The humblest hour

“the life of every man

Is a diary in which

He means to

Write one story

And writes another;

And his humblest hour

Is when he compares

The volume as it is

With what he hoped

To make it.”

J.M. Barrie

  1. Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can….

    –Ralph Waldo Emerson

  2. We can always add to the chapter of our lives in a memorable positive way – everyday we can add a sentence that reflects the glory of being alive, being able to experience the beauty in and around us.

  3. that’s an interesting quote from Emerson…I think that to make this happen, you need to have your values and goals so well defined and focused that you do not need to remember the past.

    In remembering the past, we look at how our actual decissions differed from our desired decisions, to make changes to future decisions.

    We need to be honest with ourselves in our decision making evaluation. For me, that means remember the past ones as well….
