A path to significance

One of the paths towards happiness is a path of significance.  If you measured yourself on a scale of 1 to 5 for each of these topics where do you think you would score?

My significance improves my happiness.

Evaluate yourself (1 = Low, 5 = Very High)

Your courage

Your self-control

Personal justice – fairness

Decision making

Effective planning

Going beyond what is expected

Being a pleasant person

Empathy and concern for others

Accepting responsibility

Add up your score and then divide by 13.   Was your average above 3.5 or not?  What areas do you want to do better at?

Did you answer the questions the way you are today or where you want to be tomorrow?

When the average score moves towards 5 the greater the significance in your life and the greater chance there is for happiness.   Desiring to set a goal to improve significance is a worthy objective.   Taking small steps and specific steps to get better and it is possible to do with some effort happiness will begin to emerge in greater and greater quantity.  The quality of happiness is tied to the effort applied to any category.

Being sincere (which means without flaws) in your effort will make a huge difference when you reflect on how far you have come.
