Here are five things you can do to improve your life.
1. Seek clarity of purpose.
2. Develop a positive mental attitude
3. Realize it is OK to fail, failure is just another name for learning.
4. Be opportunistic, take charge and look for ways to grow, look for the benefit.
5. Help others find happiness
It’s a pretty simple formula, simple enough that it might not get done. It is when we have an intention of doing and being that we can take action on these five simple steps.
Take the first principle, “seek clarity of purpose”, do you know why you are doing what your are doing? Is what you do really about the who you are? Are you being authentic and genuine in your life. Imagine what it would be like to be passion filled because you are doing what aligns with your purpose.
The second principle states that you should develop a positive attitude. It is not what happens to us, it is how we respond to what is happening to us. We have options that we can take, we can get angry, we can get depressed, we can get defensive, we can get medicated or we can make a choice that leaves all the negative emotions behind. What would it feel like if you could forgive others and forgive yourself? What would it be like to say,” today I learned a lesson and I will move forward with this new knowledge and make it work for me. ” Let the knowledge you gained work for you.
On the third note, look at failure as a way of obtaining knowledge. How can that be? If I fail then that must mean something about me. Not exactly, it means that you didn’t have a piece of knowledge that would have made you more successful and the failure was a way of obtaining that knowledge.
Number four, seek opportunity, make each day rich in ways to learn and grow. Look for ways to expand your horizons, your friendships, your family, and network. By benefiting others you will benefit yourself.
And finally, help others find their happiness. If you’re happy you will without trying raise the level of happiness of those around you.
