“What we can or cannot do,
what we consider possible or impossible,
is rarely a function of our true capability.
It is more likely a function of our beliefs about who we are.” Tony Robbins
How many people are really succeeding? What do you think?
How many people are just surviving? How many people do you think are spending their day just doing the basics of life?
Would you believe that 24% of people surveyed believe they are doing work that is at the survival level and only 16% are at a level they would call successful as reported by Dr. Marshall Goldsmith. If that is the case then there is a huge opportunity to improve the lives of most people. Are you surviving, succeeding or in between?
How would you answer these questions?
At work I am
– Very dissatisfied
– Somewhat dissatisfied
– Not sure
– Somewhat satisfied
– Very satisfied
Why did you answer the question they way you did?
My life is
– Somewhat dissatisfying
– Not sure
– Somewhat satisfying
– Very satisfying
What led you to answer the way you did?
What would you change if you could about either your work life or your life? What do you want that would make your life better?
If you are at the point you desire significant change in your life find someone to walk with you through that change. Find someone who will support and encourage you as well as hold you accountable along the way. Change is not easy to do alone. Change is not easy to do when there is little positive support to get you over the rough parts and there are rough parts in any change. Even people dedicated and focused on change often need a spark of encouragement to push beyond the limits they create.
“Change is the law of life and those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.” John F. Kennedy
