In this video clip the speaker notes that when a company steps outside of their strength that they lose what people admired most about that company. Walmart was low prices, not high quality. Target was focused on good design, not the lowest prices. Focusing in your strength and maximizing your strength is what will ultimately bring you the greatest satisfaction in life.
It has been suggested that 6% of adults have problems fousing on what they should focus on. For that particular group of people the label is Adult ADD. For those people with ADD it means living a chaotic life, difficulty in keeping thoughts focused, unless it is so focused that nothing else intefere’s with their thoughts.
For adults who have difficulty focusing their thoughts (those that travel a series of mental thoughts and finally realize perhaps after many minutes that what they wanted to get done was totally different than what occured), or have problems with getting all the details of a task complete (proof reading emails, or documents, or getting it all done vs. partially done) then there may be some hint of attention problems in their lives.
When an adult who has ADD tries to focus on the weaknesses in their life they are likely to get disappointed and frustrated. If they can focus on their strengths and their inate abilities they will accomplish more and find more happiness in their life. There are coping skills that can be learned so that things that distract the adult with ADD so that they can function at a higher capacity in the “normal” world.
