Where is your energy?
If your energy is catabolic (lethargy, defiance) then a little bit of that energy is very powerfully negative. In other words a little bit of those types of energy robs you of the energy you need to be innovative, creative, …
Small amounts of negative energy drains you of the energy you need to really to be as successful as you’d like to be. Negative energy slows you down – you worry, you fret, you get anxious, you doubt your abilities, you think rather than act, you can’t decide, you wallow and procrastinate. Knowing what level of negative energy you have can be the knowledge that you have been looking for, the knowledge that will set you free.
“Every human has four endowments- self awareness, conscience, independent will and creative imagination. These give us the ultimate human freedom… The power to choose, to respond, to change.”

Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.
Energy, what is it? Energy can be considered the ability to lead others or a quantity of a force that can be exerted to create a change. Our thoughts could be considered energy, energy that is either creative or destructive. The mental energy to create positive thoughts releases chemicals into the body that are building. Thoughts that are negative release hormones into the body that are destructive.
Positive energy is considered anabolic energy or building energy that increases joy, happiness and success in life. Anabolic energy shows up as a force for helping others, having compassion and wanting to serve in some capacity. This building energy is the kind of energy that enables positive change to take place and the ability to take advantage of and create opportunities.
At the highest levels this anabolic energy allows one to synthesize information from multiple sources and create a unified view. At high levels anabolic energy shows up as confidence with a desire to create “everyone wins” outcomes. People who operate with a high level of anabolic energy are seen as mostly non-judgmental and willingly acknowledge others contributions.
People with high levels of what is called Level 4 (Compassion) and Level 5 (Opportunity) energy are strong leaders who are driven in a compassionate manner. Considering that all people are leaders in some form or another it would seem that developing the capacity to increase anabolic energy would be a great benefit for improving leadership ability.
What level of energy are you operating at?
Consider getting an energy leadership assessment and find out what your leadership potential is.
Earl Nightingale said, “The key that unlocks energy is desire. It’s also the key to a long and interesting life. If we expect to create any drive, any real force within ourselves, we have to get excited.” Where is your energy level?
Are you fully engaged in life? What does that mean “engaged” in life? What do you do that is fully motivating, powerful, and orientated towards your passions?
Many people go through live living in anger or complacency. You probably know some people who are perpetually angry, unsatisfied and fed up with their circumstances. They are the people who moan and complain with vigor at the situation they find themselves in. Do you know someone like that?
There are others who continually whine about how life is out to get them and that everyone they know is out to get them. These people are resigned to a life of complacency and being a victim of the circumstances that they find themselves in. Do you know someone like that?
People who are complaining and whining about life are living in what is called a “catabolic” energy state. This is negative energy and this kind of energy robs people of the joy, and potential that life offers. Catabolic energy takes from life more than it gives to it.
What would it look for you if you had less catabolic energy in your life?
